I am so happy that April has arrived! We have some fun activities coming up later this month and I’m really looking forward to them. We’ll get to see some family and host them in our new house which means I’m trying to get everything ready for their arrival. We’ve never had a proper guest room before, so I’m having to anticipate any guest needs. Please feel free to leave your favorite tips in the Comments section!
Today I’m sharing five things that have piqued my interest or things that have been on my mind / going on in my life recently!
Easy Carrot Cake Loaf
I was feeling a bit excited about Easter coming up so I decided to try my hand at a carrot cake loaf, and this recipe was delicious and easy to make. Trust me, if I can follow the recipe so can you! The cinnamon cream cheese frosting is particularly delicious and now I want to put it on everything! haha
I didn’t frost the whole loaf because we will be nibbling at it for a few days and I want to keep the loaf separate from the frosting, but if I had been baking it to serve at a party I would have frosted the entire loaf.
Below you’ll find my loaf baking dish, some similar options, as well as some Easter tablescape items:
SIMPLE Floral Arrangement Tutorial
Our incredible wedding florist Kristen often shares educational videos or photos on his social channels which are typically geared toward others in the floral industry, but this tutorial is for everyone! This floral arrangement couldn’t be easier to recreate and just look at how pretty it is! Thanks for sharing your knowledge, Kristen! Highly recommend following him for all things floral, creative and beautiful.
A few beautiful vases for your consideration:
I love my Dyson AirWrap, but I know that the pricepoint isn’t always realistic — this dupe sounds like a really great one. I have a hard time believing that it’s on par with the Dyson, but it sounds like it’s fairly comparable! Might be worth checking out if you’re curious about this kind of multi-tool.
PERSONAL STYLE EVOLUTION
I really loved Carly’s recent blog post about how her style is evolving and the vibe she’s sort of drawn to / working to achieve. I feel similarly and find that our new “evolved” styles align more than they differ. Are you feeling a shift in your style as well? Maybe it’s being in our 30’s, maybe it’s being parents, or maybe it’s simply evolving after having been in “outfit hibernation mode” during lockdown and subsequent pandemic times… whatever the reason, I’m looking forward to this new personal fashion evolution; it feels good.
I heard about this social media / sharing app recently and I love it so far! The platform seems to have aggregated the best elements from Instagram and Pinterest and built upon that.
I will admit that I’ve become quite disenchanted with Meta (Instagram / Facebook) in recent years and would still love to continue to share / connect with people, but not on Meta’s terms. If you’re frustrated too, I encourage you to check it out and if you do, let’s be friends!
I hope you have an amazing weekend and a “Hoppy” Easter (if you celebrate)!
Sending hugs —
