If you’re like me, you’re skeptical about signing up for subscriptions… especially for anything marketed for children because they can often feel like scams. I was initially pretty reluctant to subscribe, but finally decided to take the plunge on this play kit subscription after so many of my mama friends shared their positive experiences with me. To be honest, I don’t know what took me so long to sign up for this subscription. I’ve mentioned before that I was hesitant to pull the trigger (maybe over concerns of “clutter” as the toys would accumulate?), but my only regret with this subscription is not starting sooner!

I love that (1) these toys are selected specifically for the developmental stage that kids are at so they’re naturally interested in playing with and exploring the toys, (2) the standard of the toys is exceptional so I don’t have to worry about poor quality / dangerous items if I tried to separately source all the toys myself, (3) it saves me from having to spend the time doing all of the research on what toys are best for Sophie’s developmental stage, (4) because they’re on a subscription the toys just automatically show up (*note that you can adjust delivery dates as needed) so I don’t even have to think about sourcing / ordering the toys at the right time, (5) the kits come with information on the development stage / what to expect as well as recommendations for using the toys, some of which can be used across multiple kits, and (6) they’re aesthetically pleasing which I know shouldn’t necessarily be a contributing factor, but I can’t help it! I like to surround myself with pretty things. haha!
Given all of those datapoints, I can’t recommend these play kits more.

The first play kit we ordered was the Babbler Play Kit which included toys and activities designed for Months 13—15. Even though Sophie has moved beyond that stage, she still enjoys playing with these toys, and some elements can even be used with other play kits!

I appreciate these thoughtfully curated toys and the wealth of information that comes with the kits in the form of these little card flip books. It’s not exactly a “manual” as much as it helps to describe the best way to introduce toys to your little one, the multiple ways you can play with an item, and even more little tidbits of advice!

The toys themselves are so well-made and thoughtfully designed. Their edges are nice and rounded, they’re created with high-quality materials / (wood, silicone and high grade, non-toxic plastic) and I also really appreciate the thoughtfulness around little details such as the resistance on hinges, joints with minimal pinching potential, etc.

Lovevery provides excellent resources for playtime activities for kiddos between the ages of 0—48 months. I appreciate the website functionality that allows you to explore by age (plus, they offer a wealth of additional resources in the forms of: youtube videos, blog posts, a podcast, and even parent courses!) for even more parental / caregiver support beyond just using their products!

They recently started offering a subscription add-on called Book Bundles. These are additional books that fit the same target age group and they come along with your delivery boxes. Board books are perfect for little hands and I think that the stories are easy to follow, engaging, and the photos do a great job of illustrating the stories.

Sophie has really enjoyed all of the books that we’ve received from Lovevery and when I saw that they were offering books related to potty training I couldn’t order them fast enough. We aren’t rushing to start potty training, but I want to have preliminary conversations with her about the process so she has a good idea of what to expect once we do tackle that milestone.

If there’s anything that you take away from this post, it’s that…
I regret not starting this subscription sooner.
Having these toys delivered to our doorstep every three months is not only incredibly convenient, but it saves me hours of research trying to find toys that are ideal for each stage of Sophie’s development and then having to source said toys from various vendors. I can also rest easy knowing that the toys are going to be high quality, well-made, baby / toddler-safe, and expertly designed (plus, everything is aesthetically pleasing which is just a major bonus for our playroom!).

I would argue that these are heirloom level toys. They can certainly be used by all of your little ones and maybe even for future grandkids (if you are planning out that far 🤣). This subscription OR the introductory Play Gym would make an AMAZING gift for new parents.
Don’t forget that you can get $20 off your first Play Kit here!
I hope this review helps you see the value in this subscription because I have truly been so impressed.
Sending hugs —
xx, Natalie
