I know that we’re all itching to return to “normal life” post-pandemic quarantine, but as a nation we’re just not quite there yet. Vaccines are rolling out and while that’s fantastic, we need WAY more people to be vaccinated before we can [safely] venture back out into the world. No one misses Date Nights more than I do; they were something that my husband and I loved to do on Friday and Saturday nights! We can’t wait until we can resume our Date Nights (with a little third wheel!) when the time comes.
All of that to say, PLEASE stay home with your Valentine this year.
Last year I shared a list of yummy dinners-for-two that you can make at home (maybe even together?). I also recommend checking out these easy and delicious recipes from Ina Garten; you truly can’t go wrong with any of her dishes.

If you’re not really the cook-at-home type (I mean, same here), I recommend checking out food delivery companies such as DoorDash, GrubHub, Postmates, and UberEats to see which of your local restaurants are offering Valentine’s Day specials… possibly including wine pairings! Better yet: if you can, order directly from the restaurant you want to support and pick up the meal yourself to save them from having to pay a high percentage fee to the delivery company.
If you happen to be in Seattle, these are our favorite places to order food from:
– Frank’s Oyster House & Champagne Parlor
– Ethan Stowell Restaurants (our favorites are Rione XIII and Red Cow!)
– Heavy Restaurant Concepts (Barrio and Fiasco in particular!)
– Ristorante Machiavelli
– Metropolitan Grill
– Osteria La Spiga
– Daniel’s Broiler
– Junebaby
– Eden Hill
– Spinasse
– Joule
– Hot Cakes
– Lady Yum Macarons

In addition to ordering local, I can’t help but list these favorite sweet treat companies that deliver nationwide:
– Milk Bar currently featuring mini red velvet cake! YUM
– Godiva the OG of chocolate gifts
– Sugarfina delicious candy and adorable packaging
– Shari’s Berries chocolate-covered strawberries
Light some candles, put on some romantic music and enjoy your time together! That’s honestly been the silver lining for us during this pandemic: extra time spent together! Somehow, I think that quarantine has brought us even closer and I will be forever grateful for that.
If you just want to have some fun with your friends this Valentine’s Day (socially distanced, of course), check out this post with a list of ideas on how you can enjoy a virtual “Palentine’s” Day!
Happy Valentine’s Day, friends!
Sending hugs!
xx, Natalie
