My husband recently surprised me with a ticket to the very last performance of Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour in Vancouver, BC. As I type this I’m still reeling from the news that I get to see Taylor perform the Eras Tour set one more time!
I was fortunate enough to have seen Taylor perform the The Eras Tour when she stopped in Seattle in July 2023, but I was only able to secure seats up in the nosebleeds (while not ideal it was still an incredible experience) and the show has evolved since then so I’m really excited to see this version live. This time I’ll be on the lower level and I’m just TICKLED! My previous experience was just the most euphoric — listening to / watching Taylor perform (such an amazing spectacle!) while surrounded by kind, excited, like-minded people where I felt incredibly safe and had so much pure, wholesome fun.
…
While planning my visit to Vancouver it dawned on me that although the concert will technically be indoors, I’m certain it will be quite chilly in Vancouver in December. While the temperatures themselves are fairly mild in the Pacific Northwest (as compared to the Midwest and Northeast), cold and rain are a common combination here and the moisture in the air can make the cold feel even more intense.
Additionally, in researching the venue I discovered that BC Place is an open-air stadium (meaning that even with the roof closed it can get cold / breezy). Due to both of those facts I knew I needed to pivot from the type of outfit that I had originally planned on wearing (a sparkly jumpsuit).
For this situation I want to be warm and dry, comfortable on my feet, but still on theme! Almost all of the outfit ideas that I’ve seen have been cute little mini dresses, glittery crop tops and short shorts, etc. which won’t be ideal for wet, cold, and breezy weather conditions. And while I enjoy Taylor’s folklore / evermore eras in their audio form, the styling just isn’t me (the vibes are too boho / hipster lumberjack) so those options weren’t really appealing to me — I mean, this is Taylor’s LAST NIGHT on the Eras Tour! So even though I had to adjust my outfit in relation to the weather, I’m still super excited to wear it and give Taylor my best audience member contribution to the show!
My hope is that my ensemble and related suggestions can serve as inspiration for your Eras Tour outfit if you’re still trying to figure out an alternative to the cute, sparkly mini dresses that everyone else has worn to the show since it began.

TOP
I obviously chose Taylor’s Lover Era for my outfit (my favorite album!). I wanted my warm layer to stay on theme, but also to be something that I would wear again. I have been wanting the LoveShackFancy Jamie cardigan in this colorway for years and I was finally able to source it on Poshmark — it’s the perfect solution! I’ll absolutely wear it beyond the concert, but it feels like it’s giving “Lover in Wintertime” vibes.
Finding a sweater that fits the theme you’re going for is a great option (and an easy outfit choice especially if you go with Folklore’s “Cardigan” cardigan!).

BASE LAYER
If you are someone who gets cold easily, I highly recommend wearing something thermal under your sweater. If the cold doesn’t bother you as much you can get away with a regular shirt (sleeve length is Dealer’s Choice). Just be sure it’s something that you don’t mind wearing on its own if by some miracle you get too warm and want to open up your cardigan or even shed a layer!
…

PANTS
If one body part MUST be cold in an outfit, I would 100% choose my legs. However, I don’t think I should have to sacrifice comfort for style! My favorite jeans are hardly winter wear, but they’ll be warm enough for me.
This article of clothing is a great way for your outfit’s personality to shine through. There are so many fun pant options out there, you can decorate your jeans (like so many have done with denim jackets!) or you can use a pant in a print or fabric that aligns with your favorite Era — such as glittery gold pants, shimmery pink or even snakeskin print leggings!
If you find that the fabric of a pair of pants that you want to wear is too thin for your preference, don’t forget about the option of layering fleece-lined tights underneath!

SHOES
While I LOVE the sparkly boots and heels that some have opted to wear for the concert (respect!!! 🫡) I am personally opting for something more comfortable.
I happen to have some sneakers with a floral print on them (Loeffler Randall Keeley) that feel like the perfect option for my “Lover” look! My plan is to re-lace them with a fun ribbon for the concert, but I have seen people thread “friendship bracelets” onto their sneakers as well, which would be such a fun addition to an outfit!
…

ACCESSORIES
Because my outfit isn’t sparkly, my accessories are where I will be able to “bring the bling”!
I’ll be wearing a chunky vintage necklace that reminded me of the custom Versace one that Taylor wears during her “Lover” set, gold temporary star freckle “tattoos”, clip-in hair tinsel, glitter nail polish, and, of course, friendship bracelets!
Part of the fun is making friendship bracelets to exchange at the concert, but if you’re busy and just don’t have the time you can buy a stack instead!

I also highly recommend a small, clear bag for the stadium. Every stadium has their own rules so please check your location’s regulations before making any purchases.

OUTERWEAR
My outerwear choice is going to be a “game day decision” — it fully depends on whether it’s going to be rainy or not and in the PNW the chances of rain are pretty high. I will either wear my rain shell over my sweater (and wear a warmer under-layer) or a warmer puffy jacket (paired with a lighter under layer).

— TIPS —
Check your venue before choosing your outfit.
An enclosed stadium does not always equal warm… for example, BC Place is technically an “open air” stadium so even with the retractable roof closed, there’s a high probability that it’s going to be windy / chilly. *This may also affect your packing (considering hand warmer packets for your pockets, etc.)
Consult the venue’s bag policy and that you bring a stadium-approved bag.
My clear bag (seen above) meets the stadium guidelines EXCEPT that it has a long strap, so I ordered a little loop chain to turn it into a pseudo “wristlet” for the event. I also got a wallet that attaches to the purse, not because I’m concerned about theft, but mostly because I’m afraid of dropping it while juggling everything else. 😂
Listen to the setlist & learn the fan chants!
As a Swiftie, you’re likely already familiar with the songs at the concert since Taylor has been performing them for over a year now(!!!), but it’s a fun soundtrack to listen to in the car, while you’re in the shower / getting ready, folding laundry, etc. so that you’re prepared for when the audience participation songs will be played for the second half of this suggestion: joining in for the chants! They’re obviously not mandatory, but they’re so fun and part of the experience!
Eat Beforehand
I recommend anything with protein and carbs to sustain you. Obviously, you can always indulge in stadium food, but that’s rarely anyone’s first choice, right?
Pack Ear Plugs
These Loop ones allow concert sounds in, but protect your ears and tamper the surrounding noise. This concert gets LOUD with everyone’s excited screaming / belting out the lyrics for the entire length of the concert, which I know is part of the experience, but it can be a lot. For this, I suggest maybe just pulling the ear plugs out during your favorite songs / favorite era / the acoustic set to both protect your ears AND to get the full experience.
Utilize Airplane Mode
Put your phone in airplane mode as soon as you approach the stadium / meet up with your group to save battery life. You’ll still be able to capture the moments… you can just share / post about them later with a full charge and when you’re not competing with thousands of other Swifties for bandwidth. I also recommend packing a power bank if your stadium allows — you’ll want it. It’s a LONG day.
Save Your Light-Up Wristband Tab
Save the little tab that you pull out to engage your light up wristband (if you intend to keep it as a souvenir) because you can re-insert it after the concert to keep it from blinking bright ass pink for days.
Buying Merch
Buy any merch inside the event venue, which sounds obvious, but I think a lot of people see the general access merch truck outside and wait in that crazy line when they don’t need to.
Plan Your Exit
If you are using a taxi / rideshare service to get back to your home or hotel after the concert, schedule your pickup in advance and plan the pickup location for a bit away from the stadium because it’s an absolute madhouse when the concert lets out. Additionally, be sure to choose a time that gives you some wiggle room to get to that meeting point on time to meet your driver (you don’t want them to cancel if you’re late!).

Happy Eras Tour (or general pop concert) and happy shopping, friends!
Sending hugs —
xx, Natalie
