Happy Friday, friends! I hope your fall season is treating you well so far.
We made our annual pilgrimage to a new-to-us favorite pumpkin patch! The weather has been classically rainy here in the PNW, so between that and busy schedules we only just made it to the pumpkin patch with a few days to spare. The field of pumpkins had already been harvested and tilled by the time we were able to make the journey, but there were still PLENTY of beautiful, high quality pumpkins available in large bins spread throughout the property. We HIGHLY recommend the Harvest Festival, especially if you have kiddos; the rides, activities, and food all looked amazing!

Halloween is just a few days away, which I am SO excited for, but I’m also looking forward to switching our decor over to full-on harvest / autumn for the remainder of the season. I’ll be planning out our Thanksgiving meal since we’ll be hosting some family members for the first time in our new home!
Today’s Five Things are items that have piqued my interest or things that have been on my mind / going on in my life recently!

BOO BASKET
In case you missed it, I shared the contents of Sophie’s Boo Basket this year in case you’re looking for a few ways to be festive with your little ones this season! My picks are geared mostly toward two year olds (Sophie’s age), but there are a few suggestions for other ages as well! I know we’re cutting it close to the holiday, but many things are available on Amazon and may still arrive in time for Halloween with Prime!

OLAPLEX LITER BOTTLES
Olaplex has finally launched liter bottles of their No. 4 Shampoo and No. 5 Conditioner! Such an EPIC development!
I’ll admit they’re pricey, but it’s better for the environment because you’re using fewer bottles, the pump head makes it easy to get the amount that you want, and you can wait longer between replenishments (especially if you’re sharing with your significant other like I do)! Totally #worthit if you’re an Olaplex lover!

DYSON HAIRDRYER HOLDER
This storage option makes me so incredibly happy. The hairdryer is easier to access, the power cable is organized & out of the way, and it frees up so much space in the cabinet! It was super easy to install and I just love it. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a storage solution for their Dyson Supersonic hairdryer.

Britney Spears Memoir
I picked this book up on my Target run today and I can’t wait to dive into it. Thanks to social media I’ve already heard about some major elements (looking at you, Justin Timberlake!), but I’d still love to read the book for myself.
If you’ve been here for a while you know that I’m not the biggest reader. I used to read often when I was younger (I could devour a book in a matter of hours!), but I just don’t feel drawn to them as a way to spend my time nowadays. I’m sure I’ll get back to it later on as Sophie needs me less and less (and maybe if I quit blogging?), but for now it’s super low on my priority list. That said, I will absolutely be making the time to read this particular book.
I’ve been a Britney fan since her first album (“…Baby One More Time”) released in January 1999 and been a supporter ever since. I have seen how her time in the spotlight has caused some ups and downs, combined with a complicated personal life (with her family, significant others, etc.), over the years those things have seemed to cause a downward spiral for her. Watching her “perform” for followers on her social media channels (read: trying on skimpy outfits and doing little dances / spins for the camera) makes me feel pretty conflicted. I’m glad she feels free to express herself and if that’s dancing in skimpy outfits, then you do you, girl! #feminism However, it feels sort of sad, like how you feel when you’re at the zoo and you see animals behaving bizarrely because they’ve been in a cage / used for entertainment for too long, you know?
In short: I still love her, but I feel sorry for her and I hope that by writing this book she has been able to process through some of her trauma.

Little Spoon Lunchers
Healthier “Lunchable” alternative! I think these meals are still a bit too mature for Sophie, but they’ll make great options for her lunchbox in the future. I’m tempted to try them for myself on busy days! Haha
Choose from:
“Easy Cheesy Pizza”
“Chicken Dunkers”
“Brunch Lunch”
“PB Jammies”
and –coming soon–
“Chicken Nacho Dips”!

I hope that you have a wonderful weekend, friends, and Happy [early] Halloween!
Sending hugs —
xx, Natalie
