Happy Labor Day Weekend, friends! I hope you have some fun plans; we definitely do and I’m very excited for a little [unofficial] end-of-summer fun. We’re spending a few days with my in-laws in Eastern Washington and I’m looking forward to slowing down for a few days and having some sleepy-town wholesome all-American fun. We have a baseball game and an outdoor food festival on the schedule as well as some yummy meals and at-home fun (movies and games!) to enjoy — I absolutely can’t wait!
Today I’m sharing five things that have piqued my interest or things that have been on my mind / going on in my life recently!

PUMPKIN SPICED ICED COFFEE
It’s that time of year again, friends!!! I’ve been a big fan of Starbucks’ Pumpkin Spice creamer for as long as it’s been available and I’m loving the newer (I think it came out last year?) Almond Milk & Oat Milk option so much! It’s so much kinder to my tummy than the dairy version and I prefer to add it to my Cold Brew than buying the pre-mixed option because then I can control how much or how little I want to add! I found this bottle at my local Target during my last shopping trip and I was seriously giddy when I put it in my cart. 😂 I can’t wait to finish my current creamer and make the switch!!!
I also picked up my first Pumpkin Spice Cold Brew of the season at Starbucks earlier this week and it really made my day. I hope the little things during the season bring you joy too!

Dry Shampoo Mist
I mentioned in last week’s Five Things post that I’ve been making an effort to exercise throughout the week, but an unintended consequence of the frequent workouts means frequent showers, meaning frequent hair washings and I’m just not interested in that!
Maybe you’ve already seen this TikTok video, but I was floored by the idea of this product! I’ve been a religious user of Living Proof Dry Shampoo for YEARS, but as the TikTok creator says, sometimes all of that traditional dry shampoo powder buildup can feel like a paste is being created on your scalp (yuck!).
I tried the product for the first time this past week after my cardio workout and I loved the results! I used my own method modified from both the bottle instructions AND the video’s recommendations…

How I Used It:
(1) Showered with my hair clipped up under a shower cap. (LOL at my crazy regrowth hairs; they’re so awkward! please disregard 😜)
(2) Took the bun down after the shower and brushed out any tangles.
(3) Shook the product vigorously and sprayed it on my roots in loose “sections” (I wasn’t too regimented about about this; just enough to get good distribution). I also didn’t necessarily soak my roots, but I was very generous in my spritzing.
(4) Blasted my hair upside down with my hairdryer and used a round brush to lift the roots. I did this for <5 minutes and it was dry and looked so fresh afterward! There was a slight product feel after styling, but it was sooo much less compared to a powder product.
I would rate this product as a 9/10. I am deducting a point only because there is a heavy fragrance and that may be a deterrent for some. I think it’s a pleasant scent and it doesn’t bother me, but I can see it triggering a migraine for someone sensitive to fragrances. I think it’s intentional as it’s meant to mask any sweat odors, but I just thought that was worth noting.
Overall, I’m a huge fan of the product and will absolutely continue to purchase going forward!

GET OOO
I love this idea so much. OOO (Out Of Office app) helps with Trip Planning and City Discoveries, whether you’re just looking for recommendations to mix it up in your city OR for suggestions while traveling! As someone who prefers recommendations from friends / locals I absolutely love this idea, especially as compared to websites like Yelp which are mostly full of complaints. This is the complete opposite of that experience — you’re only served recommendations that people loved, which helps to filter out all of the nonsense.
I also love that I don’t have to choose just one location (such as where I live); I can add places that we discover during our travels! I’m still getting familiar with the gestures because they’re a little different from what I’m used to, but I find the app interface is very user-friendly and easy to use.
You can create an account and follow me for all of my recommendations here! Admittedly, I only have a few places added currently, but I’m going to set aside some time soon to really load it up with recs because we have so many favorite spots we love to share when it comes to traveling, both in Seattle and elsewhere!

Taylor Swift — Midnights
Taylor Swift is dropping a new album entitled “Midnights” on Oct 21st!
In her words: ” We lie awake in love and in fear, in turmoil and in tears. We stare at walls and drink until they speak back. We twist in our self-made cages and pray that we aren’t -right this minute- about to make some fateful life-altering mistake. This is a collection of music written in the middle of the night, journey through terrors and sweet dreams. The floors we pace and the demons we face. For all of us who have tossed and turned and decided to keep the lanterns lit and go searching – hoping that just maybe, when the clock strikes twelve.. we’ll meet ourselves.
Midnights, the stories of 13 sleepless nights scattered throughout my life, will be out October 21.
Meet me at midnight.”
You already know that I’ve pre-ordered my digital copy — haha! Can’t wait!
