It’s been a heavy day today. I focused a lot on Sophie, spent her nap times furiously cleaning the house, and had little dance parties with her throughout the day to move my body to some fun music and hear some baby giggles because it was the SCOTUS ruling was just too much to process all at once. I can’t say that I wasn’t expecting the overturn, but I hoped that by some miracle it wouldn’t actually come to fruition. THE AUDACITY of the Supreme Court is absolutely unparalleled. More on this topic later in the post.
We’re also supposed to get a heat wave in Seattle this weekend… I wish you could hear the lack of enthusiasm in my voice. 😔 At the heat wave’s peak the temperatures could reach the 90’s and while I know some people thrive in that environment, it has the opposite effect on me and I am just a miserable, sweaty mess. Absolutely no thank you. Relieved that we should see some relief next week with more normal temps. I hope that if you live in the PNW or anywhere that is also experiencing a heatwave that you stay comfortable and cool this weekend!
Today I’m sharing five things that have piqued my interest or things that have been on my mind / going on in my life recently!

STRANGER THINGS S4 [PART 2]
So excited to watch the final two episodes! Of note: this season has been a lot creepier / feels more horror-like, but I have really liked the show’s focus on mental health. Such a great message for everyone watching.
The last episodes will be available to watch on Friday, July 1st, so set your [grandfather 😉] clocks!

POPCORNERS
My current snack obsession: these popped corn triangle crisps. I’m in love!
They’re perfect for any time, but I especially love the classic Sea Salt flavor as a little salty, crunchy snack with my boozy beverages. The saltiness pairs really well with my brut champagne and the corn flavor works perfectly with a margarita (reminiscent of tortilla chips!).
I also really love the Kettle Corn flavor! I wasn’t a HUGE fan of the White Cheddar (my allegiance will always lie with SmartFood Popcorn), but I am curious to try the rest of the flavor options!

CANDY BEAD NECKLACES
I have been seeing this style of necklace everywhere and was inspired to try the trend. They remind me a lot of candy necklaces, but are now being offered a more elevated designs (adding gold accents, being more uniform in bead size, etc.). I also love that puka shell necklaces, which were popular when I was in middle school / high school, are becoming more available and popular again. I’ve rounded up my favorite options in the widget below!

SOPHIE TURNING ONE
I am NOT READY 😩 It honestly feels like I wrote this post just last month… I can’t believe that she’s turning one on Sunday! While we’re not having a huge bash, we’re certainly doing a few things to make the milestone special for both Sophie and for us as parents! I’ll share a bit more on that next week because I want to be fully present with Sophie on her first birthday.

WOMEN’S RIGHTS RESOURCES
If you’re concerned about everything going on concerning women’s reproductive rights, you are completely justified. I am still reeling from the ruling and can’t seem to think straight enough to fully express my thoughts or intelligently convey all of my feelings on the matter, but just know that I feel scared, frustrated and angry right alongside you.
If you are in need of any resources (for yourself or are searching for legit, worthy causes to donate to), I recommend the following:
American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU)
Abortion Within Reach Coalition
I also highly recommend deleting your period tracking app and simply using a calendar instead to protect your digital privacy as that information could be used against you (a bit more information on that here).
Take the time to allow yourself to experience all of your feelings; they are all valid. When you are ready, we must continue the fight for our reproductive freedom and our equality. Please confirm that your voter registration status is valid in your state and, because it’s becoming increasingly more challenging to actually vote, make sure that you have a voting plan. We have to be the change; our children and future generations deserve that.
One final thing: if you have a child that is under three (because pharmacies will vaccinate kids 3 and up) and you are having a hard time finding a provider that offers the COVID-19 vaccination to their age group, click here for a GoogleDoc with a list that includes COVID-19 vaccine providers in all 50 states (put together by @pedsdoctalk). I was able to use this resource to get all three of Sophie’s Pfizer vaccine appointments scheduled! I hope it’s helpful for you too.
Happy Seattle Pride Weekend! Have fun, be safe, stay hydrated, and apply your sunscreen, babes!
Wishing you all a wonderful weekend!
Sending hugs —
xx, Natalie
