I didn’t have high hopes for these velvet shoes. I assumed they would be stiff and give me blisters, but they were too cute to pass up so I ordered them anyway. I adore that they come in this deep, dusty rose / mauve color that goes with so much of my wardrobe! I bounce between 9 and 9.5 (depending on the shoe and the brand) and I took these in my larger size.
I was pleasantly surprised to find that the shoes fit beautifully and are quite soft / pliant. I wore them with my favorite discreet socks for flats and they were amazing! Zero blisters, even on my first wear walking to / from a doctor’s appointment.
I love the texture that velvet lends to a look; it gives a bit of luxe and is perfect for the cooler months — especially during the holiday season! I did a roundup here of my favorite textured pants and velvet made that list too!

As much as I love these shoes, I felt that maybe the Mary-Jane style isn’t everyone’s particular style so I gathered some other very stylish velvet shoes that you may want to shop for this upcoming holiday season!
Margaux offers a few velvet options in their loafer mule, slide mule, sneaker, and heeled sandal styles. I love all of these options; the pointed mule is so feminine, the classic mule is elegant, the sneakers have panache and the sandals have the perfect chunky heel that doesn’t look like a ridiculous block.
Birdies also offers a few different styles (named after, what else, bird breeds): the Heron, Starling, Swan, and Songbird.
I want just about every shoe that Loeffler Randall creates. I’m obsessed with all of the shoes in their bow collection (as you likely know, given my dupe suggestions!), but I adore all of the colors of their Leonie Ballet Flat including their three velvet options (which are so decadent)!
J.Crew actually has two velvet options this year (both Mary Jane styles 😬, but one has a slightly elevated heel!)
