Having worked at Abercrombie & Fitch in my past life and now living in the Pacific Northwest, plaid flannel shirts are basically a staple in my wardrobe. They’re actually pretty versatile pieces for casual wear in the cooler months and are also great to have on hand for last minute Halloween costumes.

There are few things cozier than flannel when the temperatures drop — I highly recommend adding at least one plaid flannel to your wardrobe. I expect that we’ll probably be spending the upcoming colder months quarantined indoors so we should definitely be looking for comfortable pieces, but ones that we can wear beyond this crazy pandemic. Today’s roundup highlights the cutest and most classic, cozy options I could find!

Amazon: This is more of a tunic style top instead of the classic button down, but I had to include it anyway because I loved the yummy colors and it has roll tabs for the sleeves!

Amazon: This style looks a bit longer which would look so cute over leggings!

Amazon: I love this light pink, feminine plaid. The roll tabs on the sleeves are a major perk (I hate when my sleeves unroll on their own!!).

Amazon: Femme lumberjack vibes; enough said.

Old Navy: I really like the larger plaid print and medium shades on this one.

Amazon: This hunter green is such a delicious color and super classic for the cooler weather seasons (and holiday time!).

Amazon 2: This “faded” look is so country chic and I love the chambray cuffs! Such a fun detail.

LLBean: I personally feel like this plaid pattern is an absolute staple flannel option.

J.Crew Factory: The pop of red is so fun against the dark navy; this would be an especially great holiday flannel.

Abercrombie: This boyfriend flannel shirt comes in five total colors and has a more relaxed fit (perfect for lounging around the house!).

Abercrombie: I absolutely adore the light colors on this slightly fitted classic-cut flannel shirt, but if this colorway isn’t your jam, there are also three other options to choose from in this style.

J.Crew Factory: I love the ratio of gray to red in this plaid — the red is present, but isn’t overwhelming.

Lands End: I really like this large pattern and the muted colors, but there are also twelve(!!!) other patterns to choose from! I love how inclusive Lands End is with their clothing — this top comes in Extended Sizing!

Lands End: This style comes in ten total colorways; I love the mandarin collar and all of the pattern options! This style is also available in Extended Sizing!

Lands End 3: I adore the ruching on the bodice which gives the illusion of a slight peplum cut. This flannel tunic top would be especially cute styled with leggings and knee-high boots!

LLBean: Love this colorway with cream as the base color! I would absolutely style this with denim jeans, but also with some corduroy ones.

Levi’s: Another girly, pink plaid option; this one looks like it has an oversized cut which would be super cozy!

LLBean: These autumn pastels could also brighten up a winter wardrobe and be worn into the spring as well.

Eddie Bauer: I think this burgundy tone is so pretty and the length on this one looks like it would be great for leggings.

Eddie Bauer: Six colors and patterns to choose from, but this black and white caught my eye — it looks so crisp and would be super versatile!

Eddie Bauer: A limited edition plaid in collaboration with Sub Pop Records (notably related to Seattle’s grunge scene); four total plaid prints — get ’em while you can!

Pendleton: Such great warm, autumn tones in this one! This shirt only comes in one other colorway, but both would be great options.

Outerknown: This shirt comes in seven other colorways, but I especially like this “Lapis Sequence Plaid”!

Faherty: This brand offers plaid flannel “sweater shirts” that have some stretch to them! I seriously can’t imagine anything more comfortable for autumn / winter quarantine.

Pendleton: Such high quality with this brand — seven total colors / plaids to choose from and a few are even available at a steep discount right now!
