As we celebrate our eighth year of marriage, I can’t help but look back on all of the memories created in our time together and look forward as we’re also inching toward our ten year milestone!
According to Wikipedia: “the historic origins of wedding anniversaries date back to the Roman Empire, when husbands crowned their wives with a silver wreath on their twenty-fifth anniversary, and a gold wreath on the fiftieth. Later, principally in the twentieth century, commercialism led to the addition of more anniversaries being represented by a named gift.”
In keeping with tradition there are gift “themes” for anniversaries from the first through the fifteenth year, then every five years (so on your twentieth, twenty-fifth and thirtieth) and then every ten years (fortieth, fiftieth, then sixtieth)! I personally think that it’s a fun tradition to follow and it helps to provide gift-giving guidelines, especially if you can’t think of anything to gift one another to celebrate the occasion (I have a hard enough time coming up with gifts for birthdays and Christmas!).
I’m sure that you’re reading this because you’re searching specifically for gift ideas for your eighth anniversary, but if you’re planning / starting to get ideas here are some gift suggestions for previous anniversaries:
First (Paper)
Second (Cotton)
Third (Leather)
Fourth (Fruit / Flowers)
FIFTH (Wood)
Sixth (Iron)
Seventh (Copper / Wool)
This year (our eighth year of marriage) the traditional gift theme is bronze! I actually found this year’s theme to be quite challenging for finding quality, theme-adjacent gifts. Much of my searches returned brass ideas, and while both metals do contain copper, they’re very different alloys. If you’d like to learn a bit more, you can read about them here: Bronze vs Brass.
I prefer for our milestone / anniversary gifts to be meaningful and long-lasting (not tchotchkes) and considering how challenging this year’s theme was, I’m pretty pleased with this collection of ideas!

HOME GOODS
INDOOR:
My favorite gift idea for this anniversary is giving a Brushed Bronze Picture Frame with a favorite Wedding Photo inside!
If you / your partner are homebodies and enjoy spending time together on the couch (or hosting company!) this Bronze & Marble Mini Accent Table is perfect for a beverage and some nibbles or this Bronze Accent Table option would be so cute with a pair of sitting chairs!
For the traveling couple, I love this Engraved Push Pin Travel Globe as sentimental decor. If you don’t have the space for a globe, may I suggest this hanging this lovely Bronzed Adventure Map instead? Remembering all of your adventures together would be such a great way to mark this anniversary!
This Roman Numerals Art is so classic and would honestly look especially cool in an at-home office.
This Bronze Frame Mirror would be great paired with a note about “reflecting” on the last eight years.
I think this Candle Holder Centerpiece or these Taper Candle Holders would be so sweet paired with a note about how your partner is still the “light” of your life. You could even use a Bronze Lantern in the same way!
This Bronze Vase is such a unique piece! I think the contrast paired with paler colored florals would be so pretty. *Top tip: always gift a vase with a floral arrangement!
Speaking of florals, this Bronze Rose is a flower that will never wilt (like your love!).
When I think of bronze, my mind immediately goes to sculptures so I would have been remiss not to include any in this post; I wanted to go more subtle with these so that the art would look natural in your home. I really liked this Tangled Sculpture because it reminded me of how our lives as couples are so intertwined and how we support one another through everything life throws at us. A slightly more obvious option was this sweet Sculpture Couple, but the pair still struck me as being less overtly sentimental compared to other options (that are in an embrace of some kind).
A Jewelry Tray is always a thoughtful option.
I think this Fireplace Tool Set & Holder (+ this Fireplace Screen?) would be really cheeky paired with a note about “keeping the flame alive”.
OUTDOOR:
If you’ve recently purchased a home, or are wanting to do a little exterior glow up, these Bronze House Numbers are really elegant and it would be a fun-yet-practical way to honor the life you’ve built together.
If you live somewhere where you get a lot of rain and love to listen to the rain come down, why not take it a step further and get your partner a Bronze Rain Chain with a note including something about how with them by your side, they bring you a sense of calm while weathering the storm.

KITCHEN
I know this Barista Espresso Machine has a *brass finish, but I had to include it in this list because it looks like an incredible machine to gift your coffee loving partner.
This little pair of Bronze Salt & Pepper Shakers couple symbolize you as a couple, or an accompanying note could say something about bringing flavor to your life.
For the cocktail lover, these Bronze-Rimmed Crystal Tumblers would be so thoughtful.

I hope this list helps you with gift ideas for your loved one. Good luck in your present search and congratulations on celebrating your sixth wedding anniversary!
Sending hugs —
xx, Natalie
