We found out last week that Sophie’s beloved swim instructor is moving away! We were so bummed out by this news because she and Sophie just seemed to “click” — and I say this because we had tried at least three other instructors before her and none of them worked out.
She really listened to Sophie’s concerns and met her where she was at… I appreciated so much that she didn’t force things or get frustrated with Sophie for being too nervous to try certain things. She eased into each thing that Sophie was reluctant to try at first and over time Sophie got more brave and confident and ended up trying them after all! Not only am I proud of Sophie for overcoming her fears, but I’m also super grateful to her teacher for being so gentle and kind.
Since we only have one more lesson with our beloved swim instructor before she moves, we wanted to give her a little appreciation gift to say goodbye. This gift couldn’t have been easier to assemble and I love how it came together!

I will note that Sophie’s swim teacher is in her 20’s so that’s the demographic that this gift was geared toward, but I’m certain that it could be adjusted for any recipient!

We love our Owala water bottles for on-the-go and as a swim teacher, I felt like it would be a suitable gift. This colorway that we found at Target is so bright & fun for summer and it felt like it might be a good mood boosting type of thing for our grey dreary months ahead.
I was originally just going to gift the water bottle, but then I thought it might be fun to fit some treats inside too! Sophie helped me decide on the candy (“because it matches!”) and the electrolyte drink flavor. To be fair, it’s my favorite too and the only flavor she’s ever sampled, but I wasn’t going to argue — she picked a good one!

We stashed the bag of candies and as many of the drink pouches as we could fit inside the bottle.

I printed off this adorable gift tag that I bought on Etsy and attached it with some colorful grosgrain ribbon. I’m so happy with how it turned out and I hope that it’s a nice surprise for her today.

We’re really going to miss you, Morgan! Thanks again for everything.
Sending hugs —
xx, Natalie (and Sophie)
