I personally find shopping for Father’s Day gifts to be so challenging. Why are men are so tough to shop for?! Gifting my husband for any holiday or anniversary always feels like the most daunting task. Because of this I have started to keep a running list of gift ideas as they come to me or I add to it if he casually mentions an item he is interested in which saves me a lot of time and energy when these holidays arise!
If you’re looking for some suggestions, I am sharing some items that my husband already owns and loves (that I know he’d be thrilled to receive again as a gift) as well as some items he has shown interest in.
PERSONAL CARE

My husband loves Braun electric razors; every few years he will upgrade to the newest model. Since he just got the Series 9 Pro I thought I’d share it here because he loves it. It works for both dry and wet shaving which is perfect for all skin / hair types and includes a beard trimming feature . The base is just as awesome as the razor because once he is done shaving it not only charges the razor, but also hygienically cleans, lubricates, and dries it! So cool. Fair warning, this process is a bit loud, but doesn’t last long.
I fell in love with Nécessaire while I was pregnant, and my husband quickly followed suit! Now he uses Necessaire for body wash, deodorant, and hand lotion! He also uses a LOT of soap so these larger refill bottles are perfect for him because they way more eco-friendly than having to frequently buy the standard bottles — we highly recommend the body wash! My husband prefers the Sandalwood scent while I love the Bergamot.

TRAVEL

If he is still using a janky plastic Ziploc baggie, it’s time to upgrade him to a durable, reusable zippered bag to keep his things organized. I personally love the clarity and shape of the plastic window toiletry bags because they make packing and travel so much easier, but you really can’t go wrong with a classic Dopp kit.
We both upgraded our travel toothbrushes to this slim, vibrating style and we really love them. They’re not nearly as powerful as the Sonicare that we use at home, but the clean we get after using the One definitely feels a lot closer to the real deal than a basic, manual toothbrush.
My husband is an avid lint roller. Because we have a dog he is always removing fur (and lint!) from his clothes. When we travel he just brings a normal lint roller with him, but the adhesive paper is always getting stuck to everything in his bag so I found this slim, retractable one for him. We love that (1) it easily twists in and out of the sleeve, but snaps into place when fully open or closed, (2) you can buy replacement sticky sheet rolls (which is a lot more economical than buying a whole new roller every time), and (3) the design is sleek!
If your gift recipient isn’t a fan of downloading a lot of media to their phone to occupy their time while on a flight, investing in this Bluetooth A/V jack for air travel is so helpful! You plug it into the headphone jack on the airplane’s entertainment system and then pair it with your wireless headphones (so you don’t need a pair of wired earbuds to watch entertainment on your flight)! Brilliant in my opinion.

TECH

My husband has talked about getting a pair of Bose Noise Cancelling Headphones for years, but hasn’t pulled the trigger only because he wasn’t sure if they’d be worth it, but he just received these as a gift and he’s crazy about them! He says the noise cancelling is super effective, the ear padding and design are super comfortable, and the audio quality is excellent. They are especially perfect for long-haul flights!
AirPods are very popular in our house. Both my husband and I have had pairs for years and use them daily. My husband only prefers to use them for every day because they are more practical for work as they have the audio / mic feature for business calls and can easily slip into a pocket when he’s on-the-go. I enjoy using mine while occasionally watching a show or movie during nap time and I don’t have to risk waking Sophie up with any loud noises.
I’m pretty sure that I have mentioned AppleTV in almost every gift suggestion post, but it’s something that is fairly inexpensive and makes a huge difference when it comes to streaming! All of the apps all in one place and keeps you logged in (SUCH a pain to type in your password each time…).

GOURMET

Most dads (or just men in general) get a reputation for loving to grill. I think it must have something to do with their primal instinct involving meat and fire. 😜 If your guy has worn out his existing grilling gear, I recommend gifting him an upgrade or two.
An outdoor grill is certainly a major investment type of gift, but it benefits the whole family and with proper care will last for years to come so it’s worth it! I thought this apron and these gloves looked super heavy-duty (and oh my goodness, a matching apron for kiddos!); this prep set and waterproof thermometer looked really helpful; and the grill cleaning wand looked amazing because I know sometimes the grill grate can get really caked up.
If city life is cramping his grilling style, don’t worry — there’s an option for that too! Meet… the grill pan! They work on any stovetop so you can keep grilling, even indoors (note that these pans can be used on an outdoor grill as well). I also think these skewers are perfect for grilling kebabs, which I always crave in the summer (I have some awesome recipe ideas favorited here)! I didn’t even know that official cast iron cleaner was a thing, but I’m so glad it exists because I know that cleaning and seasoning cast iron is a really contentious topic among chefs and home cooks alike; this little brush is also so handy for cleaning this type of pan!

Some alternative ideas for the budding culinary aficionado in your life:
I’ve definitely considered adopting the sous vide method of cooking — everyone that utilizes it swears that it cooks food to perfection and it has me intrigued! This would make an excellent gift if you’re shopping for someone who loves to be in the kitchen and there are so many options when it comes to sous vide gifts… the precision cooker itself, but there are full kits (including any additional tools), cookbooks, etc. so you can customize how little or how much you want to invest in this present!

I can’t recommend Red Clay products enough to level up your meals and drinks: seasonings (especially for cocktail rims!), multiple varieties of hot sauce, as well as hot honey (snazz up that avocado toast!)!
Ditch that Mr.Coffee maker and get him a more deluxe coffee machine (which you will also benefit from 😉). Better yet: pair a new machine with an artisan coffee subscription. This is our favorite coffee roaster outside of Seattle and their beans would make an excellent gift!
My husband is a huge fan of beer (IPAs in particular!) so something like this IPA Gift Box Set or a Beer Club Membership would be such a perfect gift so that he can receive all varieties of beers that may not be available for purchase at our local store.
I also highly recommend this can insulator that will keep the can cold and his hand warm… a cool gift on its own or paired with the beer club membership!

CLOTHING
My husband’s aesthetic is basically “rugged grandpa chic” (it’s gonna be a thing… you heard it here first! 😜). He mainly shops at Filson for all shirts, outerwear, luggage, and leather goods (belts, wallets, etc.).
If that PNW grandpa look isn’t for your guy, I recommend the “modern classic” brands Bonobos & Faherty. They’re stylish and classic without looking too preppy / stuffy. They both have such a casual cool vibe without coming off as schlubby. If I were a dude, these spots are where I would shop! haha
My husband swears by Railcar Fine Goods denim. It’s a boutique shop, everything is so well made and their “Spikes” slim straight jeans are his favorite. Highly recommend investing in a great pair of jeans!
If you’re looking for a gift for a more athletic fella, I can’t say enough good things about Lululemon. Maybe he needs a new pair of moisture wicking shorts or shirt — Lulu’s got you covered for any strenuous activities. It’s a worthwhile investment in his comfort!
I try not to get *too* matchy-matchy with our family (I do love when we can coordinate though!), but all bets are off when it comes to jammies and LAKE makes our favorites. Instead of letting him go to bed in an old ratty t-shirt and basketball shorts, give him the gift of a great, comfortable night’s sleep… and if it happens to coordinate with the rest of the family, so be it! 😉

ACCESSORIES
My husband’s shoe collection is basically made up of Red Wing Iron Ranger boots and Alden shoes (which are super spendy, but definitely splurge-worthy). I’m excited that my favorite [washable!] shoe brand Rothy’s has finally launched shoes for men. I can’t decide which my husband would get more use out of: the Driving Loafer or the Sneaker… they’re both really classic designs.
If we’re at home, you will always find my husband wearing his shearling slippers. He’s had both UGG & Wicked Good brands and says they’re both comparable so you can’t really go wrong with your choice!
With more and more sunny days ahead, give him the gift of Ray-Ban Sunglasses! My husband has this style and this style, but he reaches for the Wayfarers way more often — both are so classic!
If he is needing a new pair of swim trunks, I highly recommend grabbing a pair from minnow swim. They are so stylish and are made with the best quality… we absolutely adore ours! And remember how I said earlier that I try not to get too matchy-matchy with our family clothing? Well, swimsuits are the only other category that I will concede to coordinate the family. I love when we all have a matching aesthetic at the beach or pool! It’s so fun!

SENTIMENTAL

I adore these customizable gift options, especially to commemorate a first Father’s Day! So sweet.
The first two options I shared below are assembled by the buyer. To fill the frame with digital photos that I have on my phone I order prints by Printique. They are so reasonably priced and I was so impressed by the quality / shipping packaging! No bends or folds by their arrival!
The triptych frame from Minted is put together by their team (digital photos shared at checkout) and it arrives ready to gift!
Additional ideas from my past posts can be found here.
I also loved all of these suggestions from One Kings Lane if you’re still on the hunt!
Happy [early] Father’s Day to all of the dads and father figures out there!
Sending hugs —
xx, Natalie
