We always consider the Easter holiday to be the “official” start of the spring season so I always get so much joy from filling the girls’ baskets. We have an almost-five-year-old and an almost-two-year-old so our basket filler choices will reflect those age groups.
We have also gotten Sophie many fun spring things in the past (like bubbles / bubble wands, sidewalk chalk, fingerpaints, crayons, etc.) which I still fully believe make excellent gifts, but we’re currently packed to the gills with those items already so we didn’t buy any more this year.
For a quick shop of the items we included in this year’s baskets, you can skip the full post and find everything in my ShopMy storefront here.

Before we fill the baskets, I want to chat a bit about the baskets themselves! I absolutely LOVE the girls’ springtime baskets… so much so that I would totally use them for home decor throughout the rest of the year! 😅 I like that the handle folds down, and the woven seagrass is so lovely; they’re perfect for presenting gifts AND gathering loot during egg hunts.
I was searching for a specific liner style (a simple cream color with a scalloped edge) and thankfully I was able to source this one that perfectly fits in our beloved baskets.

Since the baskets are identical, I got these adorable acrylic tags with the girls’ names on them so that they can tell them apart as they grow. The bunny shape is so festive!

SOPHIE’S BASKET
Clothing / Accessories
Gifting a swimsuit for Easter was a tradition that my mom started in our Easter baskets growing up and I love to carry that on with our girls. Growing up in Florida, Easter usually happened around the same time that the weather started to become perfect for swimming again. Sophie takes indoor swim lessons once a week so we needed an affordable swimsuit that can stand up to heavy chlorine exposure — this adorable one fit the bill.
It seems like pajamas are the thing that the girls grow out of faster than anything else so I find that I end up buying them almost quarterly trying to keep up with their growth spurts. 🤣 This is the set we bought for Sophie this year — I couldn’t resist the adorable bunny print!
Sophie has gotten a lot more interested in having her nails painted over the past year so I thought she’d really enjoy adding some nail stickers. These springtime / Easter themed ones were too cute to pass up.
Sophie has also been having so much fun applying scented lip balms (probably because of her witnessing my personal addiction to lip products 🤣) so I just know that she is going to adore this springy [Hello Kitty!!!] Lip Balm Set.

Play items
Sophie LOVES playing with Play Doh so I got her a Young, Wild, and Friedman play doh on-the-go jar for taking with us (out to dinner, traveling, and so on). This spring-themed kit has loose parts of everything she loves right now… I think she’s going to be over the moon!
For the longest time, Sophie hasn’t been interested in stickers, but suddenly over the past few months she’s become obsessed. 🤣 This adorable sticker roll has so many whimsical images… I can imagine her putting together so many creative stories with them!
This Scribble Scrubbie was something I grabbed on a whim, but Sophie has loved decorating the jack-o-lantern version that we have so I assume she’s going to enjoy this one too!

Treats
Sophie really enjoyed her hollow Ghirardelli milk chocolate bunny last year and demanded that the Easter Bunny bring another one next year, so… the “Easter Bunny” is delivering. 😉
We’re introducing Sophie to the iconic Reese’s pieces “carrot” this year — I know they’ll be a hit!
When I was little, my mom always used these large, metal eggs to put smaller Easter gift items inside and I wanted to do the same for the girls but I haven’t been able to source any… until I found these eggs filled with treats at Williams-Sonoma! I can’t speak to how good the candy will be, but I’m certainly excited to reuse the beautiful eggs year after year.

CHLOE’S BASKET
Clothing
Growing up in Florida, Easter was THE holiday that our mom would gift each of us with a new swimsuit for the year because it was typically around the same time that the weather started to be perfect for swimming again. We have some warm weather trips later this year and belong to a local pool club so this swimsuit (matching with big sister, of course) will get lots of use, even in the PNW!
It seems like pajamas are the thing that my girls grow out of faster than anything else so I find that I end up buying them almost quarterly trying to keep up with their growth spurts. 🤣 This is the set (also matching with big sister) that Chloe will be receiving in her basket this year!

PLAY ITEMS
This cute fingerprint activity book will probably create a lot of creative chaos, but it will be a fun sensory experience for Chloe.
I know I said earlier that we have enough bubbles, and we DO… but for backyard play. I grabbed these tiny bubble tubes to keep in my purse and I think they’ll be a big hit to help stave off meltdowns.
I plan to put together a simple egg sensory play bin with these colorful egg cups… paired with plastic eggs and some brown crinkle paper for filler. I’m sure Chloe will have a blast with them! We’ll probably end up bringing them into our water table and even for bathtime play as well.
Chloe has inherited Sophie’s set of Crayola Jumbo Crayons and is loving making her own little scribbles. We have these and the My First Crayons set [in a very seasonally appropriate] egg shape — highly recommend them both!
I think Chloe will get a kick out of these fidget toys — ours happen to be from sets that I bought from Bullseye’s Playground a while back, but any pop tubes and “stretchy strings” seem to be a hit with kids.

TREATS
I got Chloe the same treat-filled egg as Sophie, but since the chocolate eggs inside are a major choking hazard, if we share any with her, we’ll cut them into smaller pieces for her to enjoy.
I forgot to put them into her basket for the photo above, but I got Chloe some little snack pouches of Annie’s bunnies. Delicious all the time, but the rabbit shape is especially perfect for a spring treat.
Chloe has fully graduated to eating solids and is a rockstar with eating, but she still enjoys a purée pouch (and heaven knows appreciate having them for her on-the-go too!) so I’ll probably include a few of those in her basket as well.

Hoppy Spring, friends!
Sending hugs —
xx, Natalie
